Why visit us during Summer
Questions about visiting in summer?
-
In summer (June-August), you unfortunately cannot see the aurora because the midnight sun keeps the sky too bright. In autumn (August-October), seeing the aurora is very much possible as the dark nights return.
-
Our hillside igloo’s glass roof isn’t only for the northern lights. In summer, the midnight sun is a different but equally unique and unforgettable experience.
-
Our on-site reindeer are on site for November to April, but there are local reindeer farms you can visit in the summer.
-
Summer in lapland is packed with activities; 24 hours of daylight for hiking the Vikaköngäs trails right next to the resort, river kayaking, mountain biking and also later in the summer berry and mushroom foraging.
-
Summer temperatures in Rovaniemi range from around 12°C to 25°C pleasant for outdoor activities and warm enough to enjoy your outdoor jacuzzi in comfort.
-
Yes, the summer season is significantly calmer than the peak winter months. You'll enjoy more privacy, more availability, and a more relaxed atmosphere, while still experiencing the full comfort of the igloos and resort facilities.
