Questions about visiting in autumn?

  • Yes absolutely, autumn is one of the best times to witness the aurora, from late August the nights are dark enough for the northern lights to appear.

  • Autumn temperatures in Rovaniemi range from around +10°C in early September to around 0°C in November.

  • Absolutely. Our on-site reindeer will be available from November. Also autumn is an active season for reindeer herding in Lapland, and visits to local reindeer farms are available throughout the season.

  • Autumn offers hiking and trekking through ruska colours, aurora hunting, reindeer farm visits and foraging for wild mushrooms and berries. Guided aurora safaris by foot or vehicle begin as soon as the dark nights return.

  • Yes, the autumn season is significantly calmer than the peak winter months. You'll enjoy more privacy, more availability, and a more relaxed atmosphere, while still experiencing the full comfort of the igloos and resort facilities.

Halo Hillside Igloos offer complete privacy and stillness in a snowy forest setting. Thoughtfully designed 21-square-metre igloos for up to two adults feature a queen-size bed positioned for uninterrupted views of the surrounding trees. A heated glass roof opens the Arctic sky above, allowing for Aurora and stargazing from the comfort of your bed. Each igloo includes a private indoor sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi, creating a quiet retreat immersed in Lapland’s winter landscape.
